Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how information is processed in connection with the use of the Tzofar applications and services ("Tzofar" or the "Service").
1. General Principles
We believe in minimizing the collection of information to what is necessary to operate the Service. Tzofar does not require users to create an account in order to receive alerts and does not require a name, telephone number, email address or identification number for that purpose.
2. Information Processed as Part of the Service
To operate the Service, technical information and settings associated with the application installation may be stored or processed, including:
- Technical identifier for receiving notifications (Push Token) - an identifier used to send notifications to the device through the operating system's notification services.
- Selected localities, areas or areas of interest - for matching the alerts the user has requested to receive.
- Service preferences and settings - such as alert types, sounds and other settings selected in the application.
- Technical information required to operate, secure, troubleshoot and maintain the Service.
The information described above does not require the creation of a user account and is not, by itself, intended to identify the user by name.
3. Location Information
When a location-based feature is used, the location is processed and matched against nearby areas on the user's device. The relevant areas or localities are sent to Tzofar's servers for the purpose of receiving alerts, rather than the user's coordinates or precise geographic location.
Access to the device's location is subject to the permissions the user chooses to grant through the operating system, and these permissions can be changed in the device settings.
4. Purposes for Which Information Is Used
Information processed as part of Tzofar is used, as applicable, to send the alerts and messages the user has requested to receive; match alerts to selected localities, areas and preferences; save settings and preferences; operate, maintain and improve the Service; secure the Service, prevent abuse and troubleshoot issues; and comply with legal requirements where required.
Information will not be used for a purpose that is inconsistent with the purposes for which it was collected, except in accordance with applicable law.
5. Google Services, Advertising and Usage Analytics
Tzofar uses Google services to operate the Service, measure usage and provide advertising, including Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), Google Analytics and Google AdMob.
Depending on their configuration, the device and the user's preferences, these services may process technical information and identifiers such as IP address, device details, online or advertising identifiers, usage data, interactions with the application and similar technical information. Google's processing of information is also subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.
FCM is used to deliver notifications to the device; Google Analytics is used for measurement, statistics and understanding use of the Service; and AdMob is used to display and measure advertisements.
6. Service Infrastructure and Security
For the purposes of securing the Service, preventing abuse, troubleshooting and ensuring its proper operation, infrastructure and security systems may automatically process technical information such as IP address, access times, device or browser type, and similar technical data.
This Policy does not describe Tzofar's security architecture, protective measures or infrastructure configuration.
7. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties
Tzofar does not sell the information described in this Policy to third parties. Information may be disclosed to or accessible by a third party where necessary to operate the Service through a technology provider; where there is an obligation or authority to disclose it under applicable law, a court order or a lawful request by a competent authority; where reasonably necessary to protect rights, secure the Service, prevent abuse or address a security incident; or as part of a change in the structure of the operation or a transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
8. Data Retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to operate the Service, or as required by law. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it is processed, and the operational or legal need to retain it.
When information is no longer required, it may be deleted or converted into information that is no longer associated with the relevant identifier, depending on the nature of the information and the technical capabilities of the Service.
9. Information Security
Reasonable and customary measures are taken to protect the information and Service systems against unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure. However, no computer or communications system is completely immune from failures, intrusions or security incidents, and absolute security therefore cannot be guaranteed.
10. User Choices and Control of Settings
The user can change their localities, areas and alert preferences in the application, subject to the options available in the Service. System permissions, including location and notification permissions, can be controlled through the device's operating system settings. Uninstalling the application or disabling certain permissions may prevent certain features from functioning.
11. Rights Regarding Information
To the extent that information held as part of the Service constitutes personal information under applicable law, you may contact us with a request regarding such information in accordance with the rights provided by law. Because Tzofar does not require a user account or identifying details in order to receive alerts, there may be cases in which we are unable to associate certain technical information with a particular individual or verify that it belongs to the person making the request, unless an appropriate technical means exists that allows us to do so.
12. Children
The Service is not intended for the deliberate collection of personal information from children and does not require a name, telephone number, identification number or the creation of a personal profile in order to receive alerts. If we become aware that information has been collected in circumstances requiring special treatment under applicable law, we will act in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.
13. Changes to the Privacy Policy
This Policy may be updated from time to time as a result of changes to the Service, technology, the manner in which information is processed, or legal requirements. The date of the latest update will be displayed at the top of the Policy. Where a material change is made to the Policy, reasonable efforts will be made to bring it to users' attention in an appropriate manner.
